Join the Dietitian Referral Network for health professionals in Ghana. Doctors, physician assistants, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, dietitians and other eligible practitioners can register to refer patients who may benefit from specialist dietetic care.

Professional collaboration and additional income opportunities

The DNC Dietitian Referral Network connects eligible healthcare professionals with Diet and Nutrition Centre for appropriate referrals to dietetic assessment and nutrition therapy. Participating professionals can review the programme terms and, where permitted by their professional rules and applicable law, may qualify for a commission on eligible, successfully paid New Consultations directly attributed to them.

Who can apply?

Healthcare professionals in Ghana, including medical doctors, physician assistants, nurses, midwives, pharmacists and other eligible practitioners, may apply for review by DNC. Registration does not guarantee approval, referrals, earnings or payment. All referrals must be clinically appropriate, respect patient choice and comply with applicable professional ethics and legal requirements.

Interested professionals can read the dietitian referral agreement below and submit their details for DNC approval. Commission terms and eligibility are subject to the agreement and verification by DNC.

The DNC Dietitian Referral Programme

The DNC Dietitian Referral Programme aims to improve patient access to dietetic reviews and optimize clinical outcomes through appropriate referrals.

Program Guidelines & Ethics

  • Clinical Autonomy: Independent clinical judgment must always guide your referral decisions. Only refer patients who will genuinely benefit from dietetic care. If you are unsure whether a patient would benefit from a dietitian consultation, please speak with the dietitian on WhatsApp before making the referral.
  • Patient Choice: Participation in this programme must never compromise patient choice or be used to encourage unnecessary or inappropriate referrals.
  • Compliance: Professionals must adhere to all applicable professional and ethical requirements at all times.

Earnings & Payment Structure

  • Commission Rate: You earn 25% of eligible revenue generated from successfully paid consultations.
  • Payout Process: Commissions are calculated by calendar month and are issued following verification through the standard DNC monthly settlement process.
  • Fee Transparency: This incentive is paid directly by the Diet and Nutrition Centre (DNC). It is never added to or passed onto the patient's consultation fee.
